Anti-Inflamatory Ginger & Lemon Ice Cubes

There are so many of these recepies out there  Anti-Inflammatory drops from the Nutrition Twins are my favourite -  It's super simple and all you  need is 3 ingredients and an ice tray.

  • 3 Cups of  Hot water (this doesn't have to be boiling but can be).
  • 2 Heaped TBSP, minced Turmeric Root (swap this for 1 TBSP of Turmeric powder if you're feeling lazy) .
  • 2 Heaped TBSP minced ginger.
  • Juice of 1 lemon - adjust this to your liking.

Mixed these all together and pour into an ice tray then freeze.

Use these for;

- Tea in the morning for an immunity boost.

- Smoothies

- Cooking for Extra Flavour

Herb Cubes - Save your leftover fresh herbs

Don't let fresh herbs go off in the fridge - chop them up, put them in some water an ice tray and freeze them. Do this with chives, parsley, basil - or a mix of all of them.

  • Italian Mix - Basil, Parsley, Oregano, Rosemary Thyme.

Then you can chuck these straight into your cooking whenever you need them.

As it melts, the mint and pomegranate flavour meld into the cocktail or soda - swap pomegranate with almost any other fruit for different bursts of flavour.

Garlic Flavour Bombs

Old Garlic and Herbs can be saved by freezing them.

You can make these with just Garlic or shake it up by adding herbs.

Chop the garlic and herbs then freeze in either water,  butter or oil.

  • Throw in cooking for the instant flavour bomb
  • Wrap one or two up with your roast.
  • If it's butter - use on toast, or melt it down to paint over puff pastry.
  • Melt is down and put it in your scrambled eggs.

Chop mix and freeze - then add to your next stir fry with soy sauce for ultimate flavour.

Chilli Cubes

We all know fresh chilli's are way better than dried but it's hard to constantly have them on hand.

You can freeze them but then you will have to wait until they defrost to chop them and add to your cooking.

This hack is elite - put as much or as little chilli in each bomb and throw in as necessary.

Freeze in Butter, water or oil.

Chocolate & Coffee Drops

  • 200ml Milk
  • 50ml warm Water
  • 1 Tbsp instant coffee melted in the warm water - 1 shot of filtered coffee.
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 70g Dark or Milk Chocolate

Stir everything in over the stove top until all dissolved/melted.

Freeze and enjoy in warm milk - blend for a frapee style Mocha - or even melt back down over the stove top with some Bailys Irish Cream for a warm winter cocktail.

This also works the opposite way - freeze just the milk and add to warm coffee or hot chocolate to make it perfect drinking temp.

I make them with no coffee and always keep these in the freezer for a sweet after dinner cocktail. Kahlua and the cubes heated up on the stove in winter and just Kahlua, milk and the cubes in summer.

Let me know in the comments if you try them.

Reusable Ice Cubes

I have a bunch of these that are flamingo shaped and I can confirm that they work a treat, save you the hassle of balancing water over to the freezer all together.

Just freeze, use them - rinse and repeat.

They work way better than the whiskey rocks and come in so many different shapes and sizes.
